Day 01 of 09

Departure from the United States

Today your pilgrimage begins as you depart from your local airport for your overnight flight to Spain.

As you travel across the Atlantic, prepare your heart for a journey through some of Spain's most important Catholic shrines and spiritual treasures. During your flight, reflect on the lives of St. James the Apostle, St. Ignatius of Loyola, and the countless pilgrims who have walked these sacred paths throughout the centuries.

Enjoy in-flight meals and rest as you begin this unforgettable pilgrimage.

Day 1 — Departure from the United States
Day 02 of 09

Arrival in Barcelona

Welcome to Spain.

Upon arrival in Barcelona, meet your local guide and driver before transferring to your hotel.

After time to rest and refresh, enjoy an orientation tour of this beautiful Mediterranean city. Barcelona is known for its rich Christian heritage, remarkable architecture, and vibrant culture.

Take in views of the city's famous boulevards, plazas, and waterfront while learning about the history of Catalonia and the role of the Catholic faith in shaping the region.

This evening gather with your fellow pilgrims for a welcome dinner and an introduction to the spiritual journey ahead.

Day 2 — Arrival in Barcelona
Day 03 of 09

Barcelona, Manresa & Montserrat

After breakfast begin a guided tour of Barcelona.

Visit the famous Gothic Quarter, where narrow medieval streets reveal centuries of Christian history. Continue to the Cathedral of Barcelona and discover the city's ancient religious heritage.

The highlight of the morning is a visit to the magnificent Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudí's masterpiece and one of the most inspiring churches in the world. Its extraordinary design beautifully illustrates the story of salvation through architecture and symbolism.

Celebrate Holy Mass before departing for Manresa.

In Manresa, visit the Sanctuary of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the Holy Cave where the founder of the Jesuits spent months in prayer and discernment while composing portions of his Spiritual Exercises.

Continue to Montserrat, dramatically situated among jagged mountain peaks and one of Spain's most important Marian shrines.

Day 3 — Barcelona, Manresa & Montserrat
Day 04 of 09

Montserrat: Shrine of the Black Madonna

This morning celebrate Holy Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Montserrat.

Visit the revered statue of the Black Madonna, affectionately known as "La Moreneta," patroness of Catalonia.

Learn the fascinating history of the miraculous statue and the Benedictine monastery that has welcomed pilgrims for more than one thousand years.

Spend time in prayer before Our Lady and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that has drawn saints, kings, and pilgrims for centuries.

Those wishing may explore portions of the mountain trails or simply enjoy the breathtaking views overlooking the Catalonian countryside.

The remainder of the afternoon is reserved for personal reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal.

Day 4 — Montserrat: Shrine of the Black Madonna
Day 05 of 09

Zaragoza & Madrid

After breakfast depart Montserrat and travel west toward Zaragoza.

Upon arrival visit the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, one of the oldest Marian shrines in Christianity.

According to tradition, while the Blessed Virgin Mary was still living in Jerusalem, she miraculously appeared to St. James the Apostle in Zaragoza to encourage him in his missionary work.

Celebrate Holy Mass and venerate the sacred pillar associated with the apparition.

Continue to La Seo Cathedral, one of Spain's most impressive churches, featuring a unique blend of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Mudéjar architecture.

Following time to explore Zaragoza's historic center, continue to Madrid.

Day 5 — Zaragoza & Madrid
Day 06 of 09

Madrid & Toledo

This morning discover Spain's capital city.

Visit the Royal Palace and admire its magnificent architecture and historical significance.

Continue through Plaza Mayor and other important landmarks while learning about Madrid's role in Spanish history and Catholic culture.

Following lunch travel to Toledo, one of Spain's most fascinating cities.

Known as the "City of Three Cultures," Toledo was home to Christians, Jews, and Muslims who lived together for centuries.

Visit the Cathedral of Toledo, considered one of the finest Gothic cathedrals in Europe.

Explore ancient streets lined with churches, monasteries, synagogues, and historic buildings while discovering the city's unique religious heritage.

Return to Madrid during the evening.

Day 6 — Madrid & Toledo
Day 07 of 09

Astorga, O Cebreiro & Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast depart Madrid and journey north toward Galicia.

Stop in Astorga and visit the Episcopal Palace designed by Antoni Gaudí, which today houses exhibits dedicated to the Camino de Santiago.

Continue through the beautiful mountains of northwestern Spain and enter Galicia.

Arrive in O Cebreiro, a picturesque mountain village famous for its traditional stone houses and an important Eucharistic Miracle dating back to the year 1300.

Celebrate Holy Mass and spend time reflecting on the importance of the Eucharist in the life of the Church.

Continue through the green hills of Galicia before arriving in Santiago de Compostela, one of Christianity's greatest pilgrimage destinations.

Day 7 — Astorga, O Cebreiro & Santiago de Compostela
Day 08 of 09

Santiago de Compostela

Today is dedicated to the spiritual heart of the pilgrimage.

Begin the morning by walking a portion of the Camino de Santiago, following in the footsteps of millions of pilgrims who have traveled this ancient route over the centuries.

As you walk through Galicia's peaceful countryside, take time for prayer, reflection, and thanksgiving.

Arrive at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and participate in the Pilgrim Mass.

Visit the tomb of St. James the Apostle, one of the original Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ and patron saint of Spain.

Spend time exploring the magnificent cathedral, including the crypt containing the relics of St. James.

Following lunch enjoy a guided tour of Santiago's historic center, including Obradoiro Square, Fonseca Palace, and the beautiful medieval streets that surround the cathedral.

This evening gather for a farewell dinner celebrating the spiritual blessings and friendships formed throughout the pilgrimage.

Day 8 — Santiago de Compostela
Day 09 of 09

Return Home

Early this morning transfer to Santiago de Compostela Airport for your return flight home.

As your pilgrimage comes to an end, reflect on the sacred places visited throughout Spain: Barcelona, Manresa, Montserrat, Zaragoza, Toledo, Madrid, Astorga, O Cebreiro, and Santiago de Compostela.
