DAY 1.
Today we embark on our Journey. Prepare ourselves for a
life-changing experience. Get some rest on the overnight flight. Meals are served on board.
DAY 2: LISBON / SANTAREM / FATIMA.
Arrive Lisbon Airport. After checking through immigration and customs, please proceed to the exit door where you will be welcomed by your escort and bus driver. We will have a panoramic tour with visits to the Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua, St. Geronimo’s Monastery and the Belem Tower. Continue to Santarem, home to one of the oldest Eucharistic miracles in the world. Celebrate Mass. Continue to Fatima. Overnight in Fatima.
DAY 3: FATIMA.
We spend the day in and around Fatima. We visit the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Basilica and the tombs of Francisco and Jacinta and Sr. Lucia, and Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In Aljustrel and Valinhos, we see the two homes of the little shepherds and site of the first and third visit of the “Angel of Peace”. We stop at the Parish Church and the cemetery where Francisco and Jacinta were once buried. Celebrate Mass. After dinner, possibility to participate in the nightly candlelight procession
DAY 4: FATIMA / COIMBRA / PONTEVEDRA / SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA.
Depart Fatima and drive to Coimbra to see the Carmelite Monastery where Sr. Lucia, one of the three shepherds of Fatima lived. Celebrate Mass. Then continue to Pontevedra to see the Chapel of the Pilgrim Virgin. It was built in Pontevedra in 1778 and is positioned on the main pilgrim’s route that leads to Santiago de Compostela from Galicia’s neighbour Portugal. We also see the convent where Sister Lucia had the apparition of Our Blessed Mother and Jesus Christ. In late evening continue to Santiago de Compostela. Overnight in Santiago.
DAY 5: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA / SALAMANCA.
Today we visit the tomb of St. James, the apostle who converted Spain to Christianity, located in the huge 11th century Romanesque Cathedral. We walk in the beautiful Old Town with its plazas. Celebrate Mass. In the afternoon we drive to Salamanca. Overnight in Salamanca
DAY 6: SALAMANCA /ALBA DE TORMES / AVILA.
After breakfast we visit the old Roman style Cathedral with its altar of 53 scenes from the life of Christ and the new Gothic style Cathedral. Enjoy a leisurely walk and shopping at the Plaza Mayor, one of the most beautiful in Spain. In the afternoon we drive to Alba de Tormes to visit the Convent of Annunciation where St Teresa died and was buried. Here there is the relic of her heart. Celebrate Mass. Overnight in Avila.
DAY 7: AVILA / MADRID.
This morning will walk the narrow cobblestone streets of the city as we trace the life of St. Teresa of Avila. Visit the Monastery of the Incarnation and the Convent of St. Teresa. Celebrate Mass. In the afternoon continue to Madrid. enjoy a panoramic tour of the main sites in Madrid including Plaza de Espana, The Royal Palace, Calle Mayor and the impressive Puerta de Alcala. Overnight in Madrid
DAY 8: – MADRID / MADRID.
Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning. Continue to the Airport to catch your flight.
